The First $2,000 — Establishing the Beacon

The vision for Psalm 91 Providence House is moving into action. We are preparing to develop and establish the foundation needed to carry this mission forward with purpose and accountability.

The Beacon Campaign launches this work with a clear first goal of $2,000, giving us a strong, practical starting point as we move through the process of seeking federal recognition as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

This first step helps us keep Little Foot and Seeds of Life moving while also continuing the outreach already taking place through Psalm 91 Providence House, including preparing and distributing care backpacks, reaching into surrounding communities to check on individuals and families in need, visiting nursing homes, and responding to practical needs as we encounter them. At the same time, we are preparing the right structure, documentation, and organizational foundation for the larger work ahead.

Milestone One: $600 — 501(c)(3) Application

The first $600 is designated for the federal application filing fee associated with seeking recognition of Psalm 91 Providence House as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. This is an important organizational step as the ministry continues developing its legal and administrative foundation. Reaching this milestone will allow us to move forward with the application process and establish another important piece of the structure needed for the work ahead.

Milestone Two: $400 — Filing and Administrative Foundation

The next $400 will be reserved for additional organizational expenses that may arise as Psalm 91 Providence House moves through this stage of development. These funds may assist with applicable state or local filings, document preparation, administrative expenses, recordkeeping needs, professional guidance, or other legitimate costs connected with establishing and maintaining the nonprofit properly. Because exact expenses may change as requirements are identified, we want to remain transparent while also allowing this portion of the budget to meet the actual administrative needs of the organization.

Milestone Three: $500 — Seeds of Life

The next $500 will begin strengthening Seeds of Life, our garden initiative. The larger vision has always included gardens, raised growing beds, seeds, plants, soil, irrigation, tools, agricultural supplies, and opportunities for hands-on participation. At this early stage, we do not need to accomplish all of that at once. We can begin with what we have, establish manageable growing areas, purchase necessary supplies, and continue developing a program that can grow alongside the organization. Seeds of Life represents more than growing food. It is intended to create opportunities for responsibility, participation, learning, service, and meaningful connection to the work of the mission.

Milestone Four: $500 — Little Foot

The final $500 of this first campaign will begin strengthening Little Foot, the animal-care portion of the vision. Our larger plans include appropriate animal-care areas, fencing, shelter, feed, supplies, and the infrastructure necessary to care for animals responsibly. This initial funding will allow us to begin addressing practical needs as the program develops rather than waiting until every part of the larger vision can be funded at once. Little Foot is intended to become a hands-on program centered on responsibility, compassion, routine, participation, and the value of caring for something beyond ourselves.

What the First $2,000 Accomplishes

This first campaign is intentionally modest because we want to build Psalm 91 Providence House with order, accountability, and patience. The $2,000 goal gives us an achievable first milestone: $600 toward the federal 501(c)(3) application filing fee, $400 toward additional organizational and administrative needs, $500 toward Seeds of Life, and $500 toward Little Foot. Every portion has a purpose, and together these four areas establish a practical foundation for the next stage of development.

The Resource Center remains part of the larger vision, but we are not going to present a property or construction timeline before those pieces are actually in place. We will continue developing the organization, strengthening the programs we can responsibly establish now, and preparing for the opportunities that come next. As the vision develops and future needs become clear, additional funding phases can be introduced with the same transparency and structure.

Every Milestone Builds the Beacon

Building the Beacon has never been only about constructing a building. It is about establishing something capable of serving people faithfully for years to come. The original vision recognized that Seeds of Life and Little Foot could provide opportunities for people to develop routine, learn skills, work with their hands, participate meaningfully, and experience the dignity of contributing to a community. But this vision still needs support. Seeds of Life and Little Foot may begin with simple resources, but sustaining them requires consistency. Gardens need seeds, soil, tools, water, and continued care. Animals need feed, shelter, fencing, supplies, and responsible daily attention. The work of Psalm 91 Providence House also carries administrative expenses, filing requirements, program needs, outreach costs, and the everyday responsibilities that come with building a nonprofit capable of serving people well.

Our current $2,000 milestone gives us an immediate and achievable goal as we work toward 501(c)(3) recognition, strengthen the organizational foundation of Psalm 91 Providence House, and continue caring for the programs already growing around us. At the same time, we are continuing to look for the right space where the larger vision can expand for the future Resource Center.

That is why monthly Beacon Partners remain an important part of Building the Beacon. One-time contributions help us reach the milestones directly in front of us, while monthly support provides a dependable foundation for the work that continues between those milestones. Recurring gifts can help sustain Seeds of Life and Little Foot, provide program and administrative supplies, support outreach, meet ongoing organizational expenses, and allow us to keep moving forward while preparing for the next opportunity God places before us.
